Finished objects!

Whew! I needed to knit a hat for my aunt and couldn't find just the right pattern--either the gauge wasn't right or the needles didn't really work with the yarn--and so on and so on. She asked for a hat and I didn't want to say no but man, it was annoying to try and find a pattern. I finally found one for a rolled brim hat that knitted up quite nicely. I bought a knitting pattern for a day calendar at Sam's and decided to look through it...yes, I know....cheat,cheat. But,ha ha, I found this pattern so it all worked out well.  And I have made 3 hats this weekend. I know I should be working on Ad.'s sweater but I really felt I needed to do this hat. The nice thing is that I used up some yarn "bits" I had lying around and that is always good. 'Cause now I can fit more yarn into my stash. See, always thinking ahead. Plus, I just won some yarn on ebay-Water Lilly Boucle Novelty yarn that should make a cute vest. And I bought some Lion Brand Homespun for a cardigan. Now I just have to decide which cardigan to knit first.

I would like to knit somemore tonight but my wrist is a little sore and I don't want to "make it mad." lol. I have a pinky finger on my left hand that is out of place and I need to have the chiropractor put it back into place. Sometimes I can work it back in but this time...not so much. But I'm sure it will be better by tomorrow so I can work on the sweater and get it finished. I'm going to try and get it all done this week so I can do something for me.

Brrrr! Good knitting weather

Just got back from knitting group tonight. I had to make note of all the questions I had to ask as tonight was the last meeting until January. Since I am knitting furiously on Ad.'s sweater I needed to make sure that I understood the directions. I must have it finished in time for Christmas which I'm sure that I will. About halfway through any project I always have this awful feeling that I don't have enough yarn. Never mind that I bought plenty, in fact I usually overbuy for just that reason. I know that I have enough but there is always that unrational fear. So I'm off to knit some more as it is getting very cold and is good knitting weather.

I lost my post!

Here is a picture of the little vest that I made for K. I took the sweater pattern that I made her and just left off the sleeves and the ties. I think it's cute and she will like it. I had a whole post yesterday and it wouldn't go through...grrr!

I knitted all day on Tuesday since we stayed home due to all the tornado watches that were out. I also got to knit alot yesterday and am almost finished with the back of Ad.'s sweater. I will be glad to get it done.

I started a new project (gasp). lol. I am making a vest out of Homespun. It is all garter stitch so it will be a good, mindless knitting that I can work on in the car (only riding, thank you!) and watching tv. The color is Harvest and I can't wait to wear it.

PICTURES!!

Okay, A. took some digital photos of K's cardigan and my scarf that I made to match my sweater. Woohoo! I am making a vest for K. from the same pattern but without the sleeves. You can see how it looks by looking at the above photo that we took with the sleeves tucked behind it. I am knitting it in the Caron one pound (as it is for a kid) in rose. So far it's looking pretty good. K. really liked the cardigan, although it is very thick since I doubled the yarn. It is more like a little coat but that's okay because she'll stay warm.

It's a sweater!

Well, I put together the back and the front panels of the cardigan today. I could've finished it by now if I hadn't had been so lazy and just sat in a chair and basically stared at the wall. I will put it together and finish the I-cords tonight. I think it will also look really cute as a little vest so I got some pink yarn...well, it's more of a rose color... and am going to make another sweater and haven't decided what color vest to make. She really likes red but her mom doesn't so unfortunately K. doesn't get to wear much red. If anyone wants to see a picture of the cardigan it is in the spring issue of Knit It! on page 102. It is called the sassy-stripe cardigan but I knit it a varigated yarn of blues, mauves, creams and tan. It knit up very pretty even though I hate the yarn. And I put a fluffy blue collar on it. It was a yarn that I got on clearance from Big Lots and it's from Australia. Looks great with the yarn.

Almost finished

As soon as I am done on here I am off to finish K.'s cardigan. I do like knitting for kids as I can finish it much sooner. I would have put something in here earlier but I have been chased around the house by the new Patternworks and KnitPicks catalogs that have insidiously wormed their way in here. They follow me around, whispering...look, look at what we have for you. You know you want me...buy me, take me home and love me. I run but I can't hide because they know me too well. So I succombed and am going to order a few things. Just to shut them up you know. They will just keep after me until they get what they want. It's just easier to give in. Plus, then I will have all this new stuff to fondle and read. lol
