Wearing!!

Well, finished the sweater yesterday. Woohoo!! I couldn't get the sleeves to line up at first...freak out of the first order..but they went in and I think it looks pretty good. I am wearing it now and it is comfortable. I cast on for my next cardigan last night. It's alos from the same magazine, Cast On Aug-Oct. 2005 issue and is called the Town Square Jacket. I am knitting it in Red Heart Ecru color Fleck. I am going to call it the "flecru". So far it's moving right along and I think it'll be a fun one to knit.

Slow going

Still trying to put the pieces together for the sweater. I seamed the shoulder and now have to pick up stitches for the neck. I have been knitting on the vest that I have had on the needles for awhile. It's the same long vest that I did in Homespun but I am knitting it with the bulky weight boucle that I bought from JoAnn's. It's a mixture of black, white, gray, and brown. Until I saw it outside I had no idea that it had any brown in it. It's also the same type of yarn that I made the sweater out of. I think it will look really good. At least, I hope so.

Been waiting for the book Oddball Knitting from the library and finally, I get an email saying it's there. Woohoo. But unfortunately, someone has lied!! It is not there and no one knows why I have gotten that message. GGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRR. I have wanted to see this for quite a long time.

All pieces are knitted

As of one hour ago all the sweater pieces are knitted. *much happy dancing around* Now all I have to do is sew it together and pick up the neck. I went to knitting last night and they were stunned to find out that I had gotten so much done. Made me feel like a knitting freak. But in a good way. lol. Tomorrow I will put it together and have a new sweater.

Also going to make a cardigan. Using Red Heart in ecru ...it's called fleck. I think it will be a nice, thick sweater.

No sweater yet.

I wanted to finish the sweater this week but have gotten the front, back, and half a sleeve done. I wanted to wear it to knitting group Tuesday night but I don't think that's going to happen. I didn't get any knitting done today as it was our art group meeting night and I had to get the cards done that were due tonight. I did, however, get some cards made so I have a good sized pile put aside for various and sundry occasions. Now I can knit.

Sweater update

Okay, the sweater is moving right along. I am finished with the back and almost finished with the front. I went to one of the LYS and bought another pair of Addi Turbo's. LOVE them. I just got my new glasses yesterday and it took me a little while to adjust to them. I do hate those first few days of adjusting to them. Always a headache and I am very aware of the rims, which is tres annoying. Yesterday we had about 2" of snow with some nasty ice and slush. It was only 27degrees and today it was 59 degrees. Bizarre weather. Now it is quite windy so I am glad to be inside and nice and warm. I am going to finish my sweater this week so I am off to knit.

Rip it, rip it...AAARRRGGGHHHHH

So, I'm knitting and knitting on Saturday and moving along on the sweater at a good pace....when... I really take a close look at it and AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!! I have been doing the pattern ALL wrong. Didn't realize it but everytime I picked up the loops from the previous rows I was not knitting all of them together but rather, increasing stitches all across the row each pattern repeat. Needless to say, I had lots of extra stitches. OOPS. So I ripped it all out, started again and am almost finished with the back. I would like to have the whole thing done this week. So I'm off to knit.

Pretty sweater pictures

FINALLY!! It is finished and out of my hands. This is Ad. modeling his sweater and he seems to be pleased with it. I was very pleased with how it came out and much more pleased to have it finished and out of here. And C.'s poncho was finished last night. I seamed the piece together and THAT is over. Whew. Now I am knitting for me. I am knitting a sweater from Cast On magazine called "The Big Easy" by Melissa Leapman. I don't remember which issue so I will look. I am doing it in a bulky weight yarn in sunset colors and I think it will be quite easy. I am making the ribbing pattern much shorter than the 7''  that is called for as I don't really need to draw any more attention to my hips. It should go fast. We'll see.

The knitting group at the library met for the first time this year today. We haven't had a meeting since November so that was fun. And informative. Too bad I had to go outside to get there....it is Freezing!! The wind is blowing so much that it is just miserable to go out. So I shall stay inside and ....hmmm, what shall I do? Let's think. Think, think, think. I know!! I think I shall knit. Gee, what a surprise.

It's Finished!!

OH YEAH!! I have finished knitting on the zigzag sweater. Major happy dancing all around. All I have to do is put the sleeves on and seam up the sides. I can't wait. And then I'm going to make a sweater for me, me, me. I'll let you know the pattern when I pull it out.

Knitting pictures!!

Okay. As promised, here are some knitting pictures. The cream sweater is for "the carrier" and the green is the raglan zigzag...which is almost done. 3" more on the sleeves and all I have to do is put it together and knit the neck. Woohoo. The orange-y one is my cardigan. The color is called Coral Gables and is really more pink than orange but still pretty. I call it the big orange. I finished my vest, which is Lion Brand Homespun and the color is Harvest. I was very pleased with how it came out and may make myself another.

Knitting like crazy

This is the yarn that A. bought for her shawl/wrap. It is Cherry Hill Yarns Melange -Northern Lights is the color...yummy,no? She hasn't decided yet what pattern she wants but is narrowing it down. Which is fine because I have lots of knitting to do yet.

On the plus side, I have finished the front of the zigzag sweater for Ad. Woohoo!! I was worried about working the placket but it worked great. I am doing the sleeves now and it is always confusing working 2 at once. So far so good but I really have to pay attention. Hopefully pictures will be coming soon.
